Assigning locations and location groups

Assigning and removing location groups

Use these procedures to assign or remove location groups to channels, events, or content items, referring to the relevant page as follows:

Assigning location groups

To assign a location group to a channel, event or content item:

  1. Display the channel, event, or content item in edit mode.
    (For channels, this is in Features > Location.)

  2. In the Geo-Filtering or Geo-Blocking section:

    1. For events and content items:

      1. Click ADD LOCATION GROUP .

      2. On the Choose Geo-Filtered Locations page, locate the required group and click USE THIS GROUP .

    2. For channels, select a group from the Country Groups drop-down.

  3. Click the Save > or SAVE CHANGES button.

Removing location groups

To remove a location group from a channel, event or content item:

  1. Display the channel, event, or content item in edit mode.
    (For channels, this is in Features > Location.)

  2. In the Geo-Filtering or Geo-Blocking section:

    1. For events or content items, click CLEAR LOCATION GROUP and

    2. For channels, select None in Country Groups.

  3. Click the Save > or SAVE CHANGES button.

Manually assigning, editing and removing locations

You can assign locations to an event or content item by creating a Custom group.

Manually assigning individual locations

To assign individual locations to an event or content item:

  1. Display the event or content item in edit mode.

  2. In the Geo-Filtering or Geo-Blocking section, click ADD LOCATIONS MANUALLY.

  3. On the Choose Locations page, select the required countries, cities, DMA, and/or custom details to be added and click the SAVE CHANGES button.

  4. The location will be shown on the live event or a content item page as Custom; click the SAVE CHANGES button.

Manually assigning groups of locations

To create a custom group based on an existing location group:

  1. Display the event or item in edit mode.

  2. In the Geo-Filtering or Geo-Blocking section:

    • If a location group is not already assigned, follow the Assigning location groups procedure above.

    • If the location group is present, click EDIT LOCATIONS MANUALLY.

    A confirmation message is displayed; click the CONTINUE button.

  3. On the Choose Locations page, select the required countries, cities, DMA, and/or custom details to be added and click the SAVE CHANGES button.

  4. The location group will now be shown on the live event or a content item page as Custom; click the SAVE CHANGES button.

Editing Custom groups

To edit the locations in a Custom group for an event or content item:

  1. Display the event or content item in edit mode.

  2. In the Geo-Filtering or Geo-Blocking section, click EDIT LOCATIONS MANUALLY.

  3. On the Choose Locations page, select the required countries, cities, DMA, and/or custom details to be added and click the SAVE CHANGES button.

  4. The location will be shown on the live event or a content item page as Custom; click the SAVE CHANGES button.

You cannot use this procedure to edit a location group.

Removing locations from Custom groups

To remove locations from a Custom group for an event or content item:

  1. Display the event or content item in edit mode.

  2. In the Geo-Filtering or Geo-Blocking section, click EDIT LOCATIONS MANUALLY.

  3. On the Choose Locations page, clear the required countries, cities, DMA, and/or custom details and click the SAVE CHANGES button.

  4. Click the SAVE CHANGES button on the event or content item page.
