Manage layout settings

When you create a template, the layout is created automatically. It will contain the settings made in the template, which can be changed if required. See Edit layout properties.

Although Rails Builder allows you to add more than one layout to a template, you should not do this.

If you need to target content to different device types, use segment targeting at the rail level.

Set the layout to Default

If a template has multiple layouts (not recommended), one of them must be set as the default.

If a template has a single layout, it must be set as the default. (Note that when it is first created, the layout is NOT set as the default.)

When you set a layout as the default, it is automatically set to be available to all device types.

To set the layout as the default:

  1. On the Rails Builder page, find and select the template.

  2. To set the layout as the default, click the 3-dot menu and then click Set as Default.

  3. Click Continue to save the settings.

The layout is set as default. If it was not already active, it is set to active.

Set the layout to Active

To set the an inactive layout to Active:

  1. On the Rails Builder page, find and select the template.

  2. To set the layout to Active, click the 3-dot menu on the layout and then click Set as Active.

  3. Click Continue to save the settings.
