Subscriber management integration guide

This section explains how to integrate a subscriber management system with Open TV Platform.

To make API testing faster and easier, we have created a Postman collection that includes all the API calls used in this section. To use this collection, you should also download and import the corresponding Postman environment:

The following terms and acronyms are used in this section:

ADM

Account and Device Manager

A module that is responsible for account and device data management, client purchase workflows, and CAS SMS workflows.

CAG

CAS Gateway

A module that provides a consistent, abstracted interface to one or more CAS systems.

CRM

Customer Relationship Management System

A third-party system that manages customer accounts, subscriptions, purchases, and so on.

CPM

Content and Product Manager

A module that is responsible for aggregating content metadata provided by content providers for both VOD and BTV content, and that enables the Operator Console to provide a GUI for operators to manage the content metadata.

The CPM synchronises channel and product identifiers with the CAS where one is used.

DMM

Device Messaging Manager

A module that allows the management of messages targeted to devices. Provides APIs to allow operators to send messages.

DTH

Direct-to-home

Describes services that are delivered through a traditional cable or satellite system.

RMG

Rights Manager

A module that manages subscribers' content entitlements (rights).

Bundled account request


A bundled account request allows you to get all the users and devices for account in a single request, instead of having to make multiple requests.

Bundled devices


A bundled device request allows you to get all the details of an account, its users, and its devices from the ID of one of its devices, instead of having to make multiple requests.

Editorial channel


A live channel

Product


Anything that a user can buy. This can be a one-off TVOD purchase, an SVOD subscriptions, etc.

Technical channel


A specific version of a live channel. For example, for a single editorial channel, there will typically be several different technical channels, for example, 4k, HD, and SD versions.
