Network Settings

The Network Settings screen allows you to do the following at the platform level:

  • Turn VPN blocking on or off.

  • Enable or disable on/off network for:

    • Geo-blocking

    • Geo-filtering

  • Enable or disable in-home detection for:

    • Blocking sign-on

    • Geo-blocking

    • Geo-filtering

  • Set up the IP ranges that are used to determine on/off network status (if enabled).

Enabling/disabling VPN blocking

To enable or disable VPN blocking (that is, whether or not a user is prevented from signing in if they are connected via a VPN), set the VPN blocking switch on or off as appropriate.

Enabling on/off network

To enable or disable on/off network (that is, whether geo-blocking and/or geo-filtering are enabled/disabled based on whether the user’s IP address matches specified ranges), under On/Off Network:

  • Turn the Blocked switch on to enable on/off network for geo-blocking or off to disable it.

  • Turn the Filtered switch on to enable on/off network for geo-filtering or off to disable it.

For on-off network to work correctly, you must also set the IP ranges, as explained in Setting IP ranges of on/off network, below.

Enabling in-home detection

To enable of disable in-home detection (that is whether sign-on, geo-blocking, and/or geo-filtering are enabled/disabled based on whether the user is connected to their own home wireless network), under In-Home Detection:

  • Turn the Sign On Blocked switch on to enable blocking of sign-on outside the user’s home network or off to disable it.

  • Turn the Blocked switch on to enable in-home detection for geo-blocking or off to disable it.

  • Turn the Filtered switch on to enable in-home detection for geo-filtering or off to disable it.

Setting IP ranges of on/off network

You can set IPv4 address ranges and/or IPv6 address ranges. These are used to determine a user’s on/off network status (above).

For each IP address type:

  1. For each IP address range that you want to add:

    1. Click add_blue.png for the appropriate IP address type (v4 or v6).

    2. Type the CIDR IP address range in the text box that appears (e.g., 10.0.0.0/24).

    3. Repeat the previous two steps to add additional IP ranges.
      (You can also click remove_circle_red_resized.png to remove an IP address range.)

  2. Click SAVE CHANGES.
