We actively monitor the response times of the OpenTV ION application on different devices to ensure it offers a performant experience. Below are the targets we commit to meet within the application.

Target Basic and Target Premium refer to the different models of Smart TVs produced each year. A description and breakdown of these models can be found on the OpenTV ION supported devices and operating systems page under the Samsung TV heading.
[1] In ‘ideal’ network conditions as described below.
[2] Time to playback SO/Catchup content may differ (~1 sec) compared to playback of live. This is due to additional player operations such as checking for a bookmark and seeking.

Ideal network conditions
Enable low-latency mode in stream packager.
Video profile configuration:
Segment Duration/Length is recommended to be kept as two seconds.
Network bandwidth and video bitrate reported by player are consistent and stable as per recommended industry standards for HD and SD profiles.
