Custom components

There are four different types of custom component. These can be added to a rail in the same way as content items. Each has specific display requirements and behaviour:

• Advertisement banner custom component – a visually prominent content item intended for promotional purposes

• Feature banner custom component – a visually prominent content item intended for promotional purposes

• Application custom component – represents a third-party app (such as YouTube, Netflix, or Prime Video) that can be launched from the interface
  (In this case, as the application may not be installed, the image to be used is specified as an internal or external image.)

• Pre-installed application custom component – represents a third-party app (such as YouTube, Netflix, or Prime Video) that can be launched from the interface
  (In this case, because the application is already installed, the client can retrieve branding resources from the installed package.)
